Improvements and a flashback

Hello world!

Now, I remember saying that I'll post short, to-the-point posts in this blog. But with so many updates, it's pretty  hard to keep doing that, so I decided to use some sort of structure for each post. There's going to be a brief explanation of the status-quo, followed by changelog, followed by some pictures with descriptions. Let's start then.

I. The Update: While I was short on internets, I managed to make some changes to the rear of the car. It was quite difficult because I had to go to the university to get some information on the parts I needed, but bit by bit I managed to create something. Here it is:

II. The Changelog:

  • Ford Cortina front brake disks accompanied by Ford Cortina spindles.. (Still have to make a material 'style' for the disks.)
  • New front and rear cycle wings that meet the IVA requirements.
  • Lifted headlights that meet the IVA requirements
  • Steering column + Boss quick release + 320mm Steering wheel. (The steering column, including 2 steering couplings, works nicely. I mean, wheels rotate with the turn of the steering wheelt)
  • 2 Rose joints to keep the steering wheel in place and adjust the pitch and height.
  • All-in-one dashboard.
  • Exhaust headers, a muffler, and some muffler brackets.
  • Improved geometry of the rear-top wishbones. (Now using 4 points of contact to hold the uprights in place)
  • License plate brackets.
  • Rear wheel cycle wing stays.
  • A mock-up of rear half-shafts a.k.a axles. (Works nicely as well)
  • Fog and Reverse LED tail-lights.
  • Ford Sierra rear spindles and hub-holders. Disk brake ready.
  • Tail-light position adjusted to meet the IVA requirements
  • Some cross-members in the chassis to bump up the rigidity.
III. The Images:

Remember that green stripe on the front of the car? Let me remind you:

Just the changes:

And, my favourite, and accurate size comparison of Mercedes Benz CLS vs. Petrikas P2 (Don't worry, if I can fit in that, so can you)

  1. Palyginai tai su teisingu automobiliu. :) Būtų gerai jau po kokių 7 metų turėti tuometinės kartos CLS ir P3M garaže. :)

  2. Sveikinu su pirmuoju komentaru. Po 7? Siūlau tai įgyvendint po 3!

  3. Loving it :-) A nice job. Hints towards the 7 but still very modern. Keep up the good work

  4. Well, originally the goal was to make a Haynes Roadster, but after 'some' improvements, there's not much left of it. And, thank You, that means a lot to me!
